The Brotherhood’s White HandsAssociation is preparing the second phase of the settlement Basma village in the Yazidi village of Shadireh in Afrin countryside.
The Turkish occupation authorities continue to build settlement complexes in the countryside of the occupied region of Afrin to bring in more settlers and house them there, as part of the follow-up to the demographic change and the striking of the Kurdish identity of the region in favor of the settlers loyal to Ankara.
Today, Tuesday, the White Hands association announced preparations for the inauguration of the second phase of the “Basma” residential village project.
She indicated that 8 new buildings consisting of 125 apartments were prepared for distribution to 600 settler families on Tuesday 29/03/2022.
And she noted, through her social media account, that six new buildings will continue to be built.
On 10/5/2021, the Turkish occupation authorities inaugurated the settlement village of Basma in the village of Shih al-Dair / Shadireh, in the countryside of Afrin, a year after the start of work in it by the “White Hands” Association and with the support of the Kuwaiti Development Association, with the aim of bringing families from Idlib camps to settle them there.
The location of the settlement village was chosen to the south of Shadiereh village – Shirawa district, specifically in the Shadiereh Valley – Taklaki, near the village of Iska, 15 km from the Turkish-Syrian border.
The first phase of the project included 12 housing units, each of 3 floors, and 4 apartments on each floor. So the total is 144 apartments. The total area of ​​each apartment is 50 m2, and it consists of a bedroom, a children’s room, a bathroom and a kitchen.
The Brotherhood’s “White Hands” Association received financial support from the “Living in Dignity” Association, which belongs to Palestine in 1948.
Afrin Post was able to obtain a special permit from one of the workers in the “Live in Dignity” association, in May 2021, without revealing his identity.
In the recorded phone call, a member of the association said that their association supports “White Hands” projects in Turkey and in the areas occupied by Turkey, to help Syrian refugees, explaining that they funded through the “White Hands” association the construction of 5 mosques in the areas of Turkish security control, as well as they financed Housing projects there, in addition to providing food aid to Syrian refugees in camps, whether in Syria or Turkey.
And the Yazidi Kurdish village of Shadiriye, which was inhabited by about 500 people prior to the Turkish-Brotherhood invasion in 2018, and after the occupation of the village on March 14, 2018, they were displaced and only 50 of its original residents were able to return to it, while the militants and their families settled in the village and seized homes and properties forcibly displaced citizens.
