Human rights sources revealed that Turkish authorities have transferred more than 90 Syrian detainees whom they arrested at intervals since October 2019 to Helwan Prison in the state of Urfa / Raha, with fears for their fate, in light of continuous postpone of their trial, especially with the spread of the Corona virus in the country, and The Turkish authorities refused to respond to calls for their release. Although most of these are civilians, they were arrested on charges of supporting the SDF, or self-administration, which is Turkey’s argument and the armed groups loyal to it in arresting and kidnapping civilians.
A statement of appeal had been signed by 41 Syrian organisations sent to the United Nations to urge them to move and pressure the Turkish government to reveal the fate of the Syrian detainees in its prisons and release them, as they were arrested for illogical reasons.
